Bee sting mid-length twin / mini bee sting

The Bee Sting was a twin fin I designed around eight years ago for big waves so I could keep that loose feeling and speed in large waves. It has a full nose outline pulled in the tail and a double concave tri-plan hull bottom contour.

The rail line holds a 2 1/4 inch flat chined panel that creates a rolled-out rail, running from in front of the fins to the nose. This smooths the rail-to-rail transition at speed and lets me roll the rail out a bit more in the last third of the board in the nose, helping the flatter nose handle sucky sections and letting water escape.

The Bee Sting is a great learner board/twin enthusiast/point or river mouth paddle machine and an all-around fun board. It suits the Mid-length twins people have been getting into. It works with up-right twins for snappier surfing in shorter length waves, keels for waves that have room to move, and we could go twinzer. A single fin box option would be another great option.

As an example of dims, my latest fuller design is 6.8 by 20 1/4 by 2 5/8 38 litres. 2023, we have added a mini version in smaller sizes to the catalogue, which surfs more radical and responsive in short, sucky waves. the Eps/epoxy construction is another great option to lighten the board up for a more lively feel.

All boards are custom-made to suit each individual.

Mini bee sting

A shrunken version of the mid-length. Has the same glide and smooth rail to rail transition but and added piece of performance in the mix. The one pictured is 6’0 by 19 1/4 by 2 11/16 at 32L. A step down from a 6’8 (19 1/2 by 2 11/16) mid-length at 36L.
